iStrikhedonia isn’t really a word, but strikhedonia is. It’s Greek, and it means: pleasure in being able to say “to hell with it”. I like this sentiment. For me, throwing caution to the wind (at times), and just following your instinct, can be very freeing. It’s how I ended up in Japan really, though that’s a story for another post. Originally, I started a Tumblr blog (I still have it and maintain it, check it out here: here), and I wanted to use the word strikhedonia. Sadly for me, it was already taken. I added the “I” in front on a whim really, but it works for me, and now all my travel-related stuff has the same name.
As far as what I expect to gain from this blog, I’m not sure how to answer. A diary of my experiences? A way to share my knowledge with others? For shits and giggles? I guess it’s all of these, maybe more. We will see as it progresses.
For now though, thank you. I appreciate every reader. I hope I can entice you to keep coming back. But for now, adieu.
